Do you want to learn more about iPods and how you can use them to help students
with disabilities? Have your heard about using iPods for students with Autism, but
aren’t sure where to begin? Bring your iPod Touch to follow along with the instructor’s
step-by-step tour.
Then learn how iTunes software can download music, apps, photos, and more to
iPods. Once you’ve got the basics, see numerous apps demonstrated and videos of
students using them for:
Communication
Behavior intervention
Social skill enhancement
Functional learning
Leisure activities
Video modeling
The apps shown also work on iPads and iPhones. You do not need to have an iPod
Touch to attend, but feel free to bring one (or an iPad or iPhone) if you do. Learn how
you can use the iPod Touch with your students today!

East Side Youth Charity Road Rally, Indianapolis, August 21
Registration Begins: Noon

Meet: IndyFringe, on St. Clair just E. of College and Mass
$10 per car – with a youth age 20 or younger $20 per car - adults
Spend a pleasant Saturday afternoon touring the Eastside of Indianapolis. In the spirit of BBC’s Top Gear, have fun following directions and looking for signs with a photograph hunt and other fun activities along the way. We end with dinner at La Hacienda on E. Washington.
The focus of this Rally is Youth Programs on the near eastside and beyond. Youth (18 years or younger) will need a waiver from a parent or guardian. Go to IndySCCA.orgregistration forms or e-mail Susan Vogt, at svogt@rileyarea.org.August 18th will receive a gift bag at the event.

Partners of the Rally include: Indianapolis Sports Car Club of America, Legacy Project/Special Events & Promotions Committee, the Willard Park Affordable Housing Development and IndyFringe.
Donation will go to the Connected By 25 Youth Leadership Board.
Prizes and trophies will be given out.
Here are some of the basics to this GTA (Game/Tour/Adventure) Road Rally:
·The Rally is approximately 2 hours of driving and 1 hour of activities.
·You drive your own car.
·Each team consists of 2 people: a driver and a navigator. We suggest no more than 3 people in a car. Experienced drivers a plus.
·A perfect score is 0, each mistake earns you a point
Regardless of how well you score, rallying is a lot of fun if you like to take road trips in your car, see some scenery and spend time with congenial people. At the end, over dinner, you can join the rest of the crowd in discussing how the event went and how your team did while waiting for the final scores and announcement of winning teams.

Overview: This workshop, combining the Article 7 and IEP training, is all day training that offers basic information about special education laws and regulations for Indiana children ages 3-21. In addition, this training will provide information on how to prepare for a case conference and write an IEP. This training is a great opportunity for family members and professionals who advocate for children with a disability or serious chronic illness
Registration for the training will be closed on August 24, 2010
Payment is due PRIOR to event. Payment can be made online through PayPal.
Lunch is not provided. Time will be allotted for lunch on your own.
Minimum of 6 per training is required for training to take place.
CRU’s for educator license renewal are available for this training.
* Due to ASK’s lack of funding sources to support our trainings, ASK is required to charge training participant fees to recoup our costs for qualified trainers, travel, printing of information etc. Families of children ages 0-5 can apply to the Family Involvement Fund at www.inf2f.org, to help cover the cost of these trainings. If applying to the Family Involvement Fund, request a waived registration fee which will allow ASK to be reimbursed directly and will not require payment up front from you . Workshop: Understanding and Intervening with the Antisocial Client, Indianapolis, September 17
CIRC Training's 2010 Workshops to be held on third Fridays of alternative months beginning January, 15th at 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m., will be held at the (please note new site) North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. meridian Street, Indianapolis, in the basement Club Room. Cost for the workshops, with topics spanning current mental health and addiction issues, has been held to $30 for pre-registration and $40 at the door, and includes our traditional catered lunch, morning coffee and donuts, and five CEUs approved for both ICAADA certifications and Indiana Professional Licensing Agency licenses.

“Understanding and Intervening with the Antisocial Client,” Bill Elliott, Ph.D., Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Illinois Department of Correction. This workshop will examine primary thinking styles and strategies utilized by antisocial clients to obstruct or derail treatment and provide proven strategies for therapeutically intervening with antisocial
clients, including a strategy for management of client resistance.

Treating and Identifying Childhood Sexual Abuse, Indianapolis, November 19
“Treating and Identifying Childhood Sexual Abuse,” Charles W. Sanders, Ph.D., LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, School Psychologist, Sanders and Associates, Indianapolis, and Lawrence Strohacker, Ed.D., LCSW, School Psychologist, Indianapolis. This workshop will teach the practitioner to identify the symptoms of childhood sexual abuse, discuss testing instruments that can indicate abuse, and educate on the treatment of the sexual abuse victim.
